LinkedIn is the latest platform to add a new feature to its network. This week, LinkedIn unveiled a ‘reactions’ feature, whereby users can react to posts with a number of responses, including the ability to celebrate, love and like.
LinkedIn has said that they analyzed the top 1-2 word comments being used and what types of posts people are sharing most. “We also conducted global research with LinkedIn members to get feedback on the specific reactions to ensure they were universally understood and helpful.”
The new feature shows that the platform is starting to step away from its professional core and towards more Facebook-driven content. The platform also announced that they hope the new feature will help to increase engagement.
It’s also thought that the new feature has been introduced to give the platform a more ‘human look’ and to encourage creativity. It could, therefore, help to create better relationships between connections, that are more emotionally based.
